Xia Pinqi, a second-level professor of national key disciplines of flight vehicle design in the College of Aerospace Engineering, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) , a PhD supervisor, and director of the National Key Laboratory of Rotorcraft Aeromechanics, and president of the Institute of Aerospace Engineering (IAE).

Xia Pinqi has served as the dean of Graduate School and the College of Aerospace Engineering, NUAA. He has also been selected as a member of the Technical Committee on Structural Dynamics and the Education Committee of American Helicopter Society (AHC), and a member of Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering.

Currently, Xia Pinqi is a member of the Executive Committee of Asian/Australian Rotorcraft Forum (ARF), the chairman of the Chinese Branch of AHC, a member of the Helicopter Branch of Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA) , and director of the Jiangsu Provincial Education Guidance Committee for the Postgraduate of Engineering Ⅰ. He was appointed as a member of the editorial board of Journal of Vibration Engineering, Series of Aviation Science and Technology, and director of the Editorial Board of the Aircraft Series of the Science Press, director of the Editorial Board of Aircraft Series (by Science Press), subeditor of Aerospace Science and Technology  (International Academic Journals), subeditor of Russian Aeronautics.

As the president, Xia Pinqi has organized International Basic Research Conference on Rotorcraft Technology and the First China-Russia Forum on Helicopter Technology , which mainly sponsored by AHC and CSAA.
